I was hospitalized for about a week and just got to the point where I can use a computer; can somebody update me on what's been happening in the auto world?
Hospital trip, Oppo synopsis with all of the gory details removed
I got two ambulance rides: both in Ford F-250s. The EMTs said that the 250 rides better than the newer Kenwoods, but the second one rode worse than the family CR-V... of course, I've slept in beds more comfortable than the CR-V. (No, really, I have. Bedsore-prevention ICU beds are really, really agitating.)
Read a bunch of motoring magazines whilst recovering.
Also, recieved an awesome quilt from the "Quilts for Kids" organization:

Kia showed off the most exciting car at the Detroit Auto Show
The C7 is still awesome, getting awesomer Z06 with 600 something ponies.
Toyota showed off the concept that people think will be the next Supra, even though they've said it's not the next Supra
Bugatti's were confused for Lamborghini's, and a few Ferrari's burned.

Dude! That quilt is awesome! Almost worth a hospital stay! Hope you're OK.
The most important events in the last week have been a Corvette Z06 with 620 horsepower and an available automatic that they laughably claim is faster than Porsche PDK, a Lexus RC F with 450 horsepower, and an Infiniti concept car that
could have
500 horsepower, if they wanted it to.
But really, that quilt.

I hope you are feeling better. Very cool quilt!
The world:
many new cars were revealed that looked like old cars. People tried to get us excited about them.
Someone rustled jimmies on Oppo.
I think there was drama within the last week, but it was about nothing as drama tends to be around here.
People still think stick shift is the way to go and can't understand why 500 HP German diesel wagons aren't sold in the US.
Normal stuff.
Do take care of yourself and enjoy the all you can drink apple juice while you can.

I was in the ICU for a week on one of those 'anti-bedsore' bed...wasn't bad until they started giving me morphine. Then I just wanted to jump out of the window. I had some serious hallucinations between the bed constantly moving and the meds.
The quilt rocks, btw!

Oh, morphine hallucinations are the wierdest. Especially when you start discovering chain science/education stores with very painful berber carpets in the middle of a small noir New York.
Happy note: at least half the hallucinations did involve me hooning cars around tracks... I think.
